With deep sorrow, we share the passing of Maxine Townsend of Novi, Michigan on January 4, 2012. Born in 1933 in Union City, Tennessee, she leaves behind three brothers, Will Austin (Jean), Robert (Pat) and Charles Hager. In 1954, she became an x-ray technician at Mercy Hospital in Janesville, Wisconsin, where she met and married Irvin "Ike" Townsend, who preceded her in death in 2008. Maxine is the beloved mother of four daughters: Tami (Ken) Chaushoff of Dearborn, Tawnya (Tom) Bender of Bloomfield Hills, Teri A. Hollister of Sarasota, FL, and Courtney (Jon) Hewett of South Lyon. "Granny Max" will be sadly missed by Charlie (Laurie), Nathan and Emily, Morgan and Mackenzi (Adam), Jackson and Jaymes, and great-grandson Lukas.
