Obituary

Mary Ann (Rusty) Meyer Singer, beloved mother, daughter, sister and friend, peacefully passed away during the early morning hours on January 6 with her beloved twin brother, Michael, at her side. Mary Ann spent her final years in Ypsilanti, Michigan, but her heart was truly in Petoskey where she spent the majority of her life. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio, to Joseph and Connie Meyer on December 19, 1945. Mary Ann attended Saint John College of Cleveland, Ohio, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1967. She specialized in oncology and geriatrics and served as a surveyor for licensing and certification for the Michigan Department of Public Health for long-term care facilities. Although she was dedicated to nursing and to caring for others in need, her true passion was art. She loved to paint and draw. She sold oils, ink sketches and portraits upon commission.
Mary Ann is survived by daughter, Marci Singer (Ed Wagar) of Petoskey, son, Marc E. Singer of Harbor Springs, her two sisters, Terry Rosol and Peggy Matthews, along with her ten Meyer brothers, Larry, Michael, Tom, Dan, Jim, Greg, Steve, Jerome, Dave and Tim, as well as 17 nieces and nephews and their families.
Mary Ann will truly be missed be anyone who was lucky enough to have been touched and loved by her.
