Mary Theresa Ivers Obituary

Mary Theresa O'Malley Ivers "Theresa" age 83, of Brighton Michigan died peacefully in her home January 12, 2022. Theresa was born in Detroit, Michigan on July 5, 1938, to John and Winnifred O'Malley. She was the oldest daughter, of nine children. Jack, Joe, Bill, Dennis, Fr. Kenneth, Br. Kevin, Patty-Ann, and Baby Kenneth. She attended St. Gregory the Great Catholic School, was prom queen, and graduated in 1957. After Graduation, Theresa met her husband John Ivers, on a blind date, it was love at first sight. She was united in Holy Matrimony on July 23, 1960, and celebrated 62 years together. They were blessed with four children, Colleen, John, Jennifer, and Kate. They raised their kids in Livonia Michigan where she was an active member of St. Aidan's Parish. She worked for Livonia Public schools, retired and spent their golden years in Brighton, Michigan. She is a 30 year member of St. Patrick's church in Brighton, Mi. She loved camping, cruises, winters in Florida, and summers on Mullet Lake. She was a dedicated loving mother, wife, and the very best grandmother. She loved her family, her Country, and her faith. She will forever be missed by her husband John, daughter Colleen Foley (Tim) Joseph, Danny, Brianna, and Jenna, Son John (Pat Samples) Kelsey, Carley, Clare, Jack, and Sydney. Daughter Jennifer Kogler (Stefan) Brogan, Tegan, and Flynn. Daughter Kate Barnes (John) Avery and Ellie Schaeffer, Tyler, Grant and Carter Barnes.
