Mary Beth was born in Detroit, the city she forever loved. She knew her way everywhere. She and her treasured (handsome, intelligent) son Michael would venture, adventure, into town for a walk on the Riverwalk, a trip to the Eastern Market, laughs, and brunch at the casinos. Maybe just watching the freighters. She read the Detroit newspaper every Sunday morning, followed the obits, and of course, clipped coupons. Many of which she shared. She had a coupon for that!
She was with the Walled Lake school system for 30 years. From crossing guard to lunch lady, to heart and soul of the school lunch program. She was a giver, she cared. Mary Beth was not ready to retire.
She was a talented woman. Crafter, seamstress, gardener, fisherwoman. She was the real deal. Whatever she did, she did it well and gave it her all. She had opinions, and chances are you knew what they were.
She was everyones favorite aunt, you could always count on her to be there. And to bring her absolute most bestest Chex mix and Rice Krispie Treats. Such a good sense of humor as well.
Mary Beth leaves behind her beloved son Michael Johnson, siblings Kathleen, Tom, Patrick (Cindy), Matthew, Monica (Todd), Brian, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and their children. She will be dearly missed.
Eep Opp Ork Ah Ah, she would sing, and that means I love you
