Mary Ellen Morgan, 91, of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2025.
She was born on October 25, 1933, in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. A graduate of Bradford College, Mary Ellen remained a lifelong supporter of the school and valued the education and friendships she gained there. She carried with her a deep love for New Hampshire and everything New England, cherishing her roots throughout her life.
Throughout her long and full life, Mary Ellen was devoted first and foremost to her family, who were the center of her world. She was an accomplished cook who loved gathering loved ones around the table, a talented quilter who poured care into every stitch, and an enthusiastic traveler who embraced the joy of discovering new places and experiences.
Mary Ellen was also very active in the P.E.O. organization, a sisterhood dedicated to supporting women's education, and was a past member of the Village Women's Club in Bloomfield Hills, where she developed lasting friendships and contributed to her community.
She will be remembered for her warmth, her grace, and the love she shared so freely with all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Lisa (Kirk) McGinn and Thomas (Dawn) Morgan; her grandchildren, Amanda Morgan, Jenessa (Alex) El Jara, Nicole (Neil) Stinebaugh, Andrew (Hayley) McGinn, Brenna McGinn, and Douglas McGinn; and her great-grandchildren, Rachel and Elizabeth Duke, Rylan and Audrick El Jara, Blake, Evan, and Bodhi Stinebaugh, and Paige and Riley McGinn. She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy G. Morse; her father, Harold S. Morse; and her former husband, Thomas C. Morgan Jr.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at the O'Brien-Sullivan Funeral Home, 41555 Grand River Avenue, Novi, on Monday, October 20, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM with a memorial service at 12:00 PM.
