Mary L. Lewis, born on August 2, 1944, embraced life with unwavering faith and love. She peacefully passed away on January 2, 2024, surrounded by the warmth of her family. Mary's life was a testament to her commitment to her faith, family, and community.

A devoted member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Mary found solace and purpose in her spiritual journey. Her involvement extended beyond attending services; she tirelessly taught classes and actively participated in various church groups, leaving an indelible mark on the congregation.

Professionally, Mary contributed to her family's masonry business, Vandervennet and Sons, working alongside her brothers and nephews. Her dedication and hard work were pivotal in the success of the family enterprise.

Mary had a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life. She enjoyed leisurely walks both indoors and outdoors, reveling in the beauty of nature. Bird watching and deer sightings brought her immense joy, connecting her with the tranquility of the world around her.

A spirited enthusiast, Mary relished playing a myriad of games, from cards to board games to dice. Her love for sports, especially the Detroit Lions and Detroit Tigers, reflected her loyalty and passion for her hometown teams.

Family was at the heart of Mary's existence. She never missed a family event, cherishing moments with her children, numerous grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, and church family. Her favorite holiday was the 4th of July, where she reveled in creating lasting memories with those she held dear.

Known for her generosity, Mary shared her love and blessings with others. She frequently wrote cards and notes to friends and family, expressing her thoughts and well-wishes, a testament to her caring nature.

Visitation to celebrate Mary's life will be held at the O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home 41555 Grand River Ave. Novi, 48375 on Sunday, January 7, 2024, from 2-8 pm. A funeral service will take place at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 201 Elm St, Northville, 48167, on Monday, January 8, 2024. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, with the service commencing at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church at 201 Elm St, Northville, MI 48167, in honor of Mary's enduring commitment to her faith community.

Mary Lewis will be remembered for her unwavering love, kind spirit, and the profound impact she had on the lives of those fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in eternal peace.
