Kaminski, Mary Pat B.S.N. Age 86. March 5, 2021. Beloved wife of the late Leonard. Loving mother of Mary Beth Harris, Colleen (Stephen) Czank and Jim (Lori) Kaminski. Grandmother of Greg, Brad, Claire, Peter. Great-grandmother of Maggie, Greyson, Owen and Lilah. Dear sister of the late Barbara Boks and Tom Williams.Mary Pat Kaminski was a kind and loving woman who took care of everyone. She was always giving of her time and love to family and friends. As a nurse who graduated from Mercy College of Detroit. She worked in many roles beginning as a floor nurse at Mt. Carmel Hospital, moving on to teach at Henry Ford Community College, and eventually retiring as the Director of Nursing from McAuley Center. Retirement did not squelch her love of nursing. She continued as a volunteer taking blood pressures weekly where she lived at Meadowbrook Commons, and serving on the parish health ministry at Church of the Holy Family giving flu shots, and doing cholesterol and glucose screenings.
She loved to play bridge. She played for over 50 years with a close group of friends, she played with Len in many couples groups, and in her later years she and Betty joined the Bridge Connection where they started earning master points. Her goal was to earn over 50 master points but following her car accident a couple years ago she could not get to the Bridge Connection. When the pandemic hit little did, she know she would be able to realize her goal. She ordered an iPad, set it up herself with much frustration and began playing bridge online. From March through mid-July, she played 6 days a week and exceeded her goal ending her bridge career with more than 60 master points.
Mary Pat was known for her style and smile. She was never seen without her make up and jewelry. Mary Pat loved people. Even in the past weeks while in hospice she received guests daily in person and on the phone from grade school, high school, college, work, church, family, and lifelong friends. A very faithful woman she is now happily reunited in heaven with her beloved Len.
Mom, we will always miss you and thank you for your eternal loved. Mary Beth, Colleen, and Jim
