It is with a heavy heart that we announce the peaceful passing of Mary Haran on April 29, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love for her Family and devotion to her Friends. She was a remarkable woman, exhibiting both great strength and compassion throughout her life. Mary always carried herself with grace and dignity and was full of energy to the very end of a life well lived. Born on April 14, 1931, she has been a long-time resident of Northville, Michigan, the town she loved.
Every picture tells a story, and in many ways this photo of Mary captures her life story. This photo was the last photo taken of her on her recent 93rd birthday. She had recently lost Frank, her dear husband of 73 years. Yet through her grief, she still looked so beautiful, radiant, self-confident, and at peace with herself. This was one strong woman. She was the strong woman behind the man who called her his "Queen". She was the administrative backbone of the business Frank could not have made so successful without her.
Mary loved to be sociable. She loved chatting about almost anything with her friends and even with total strangers. She loved to garden and to share handpicked fresh vegetables with family and friends. But most of all, she found great joy in the simple pleasures in life sitting around the kitchen table playing cards & board games with her Grandchildren. Mary was always young at heart.
Mary was the loving mother of and is survived by Beverly (Jim) and Robert (Rhonda), and the beloved Grandma of Alex, Hunter, and Madison. Mary was a friend to all and will be so very missed. She passed peacefully with her family at her bedside and joined her dear husband Frank in Heaven. May God Bless Mary and may she rest in everlasting peace.
A Celebration of Mary's life and Memorial Service will be held at O'Brien's Funeral Home in Novi on June 8, 2024. Family and Friends are invited to gather at 10am with the Memorial Service commencing at 11am.
Please consider sending flowers to the services for Mary. She absolutely loved flowers, but she had allergies to many and did not get to enjoy them as frequently as she would have liked. Let us try to surround her with the same beauty that she put out into the world, one last time.
