BLASCHAK, MARY M. (NEE Mary Margaret Comer), age 88. Predeceased by her dear husband, John T. Blaschak in 1984. Loving mother of Patricia (Chris) Rodgers, James M. (Kathleen Willard) and Brigid. Fond grandmother of Megan and Connor Blaschak, and great-grandaughter Paige. Dear sister of John C (Jack) Comer of Austin, TX. Mary graduated from Cass Technical High School in June, 1941 and interrupted her college studies at the University of Detroit to study aeronautical engineering as a Curtiss-Wright Cadette at the University of Minnesota. Upon graduating from U of D in 1948, Mary taught in the Detroit Public Schools: General Science at Boynton Elementary and Chemistry at Cass Technical High School. She received a M.Ed. and Masters in Library Science at Wayne State University and was employed as a research librarian at the Bendix Research Laboratories (later Allied-Signal Corp.) until 1992 when she retired. Mary had many interests: love of learning, world-wide travel, music, particularly playing the piano and singing in various choral groups, reading, playing bridge and working crossword puzzles in ink.

A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, March 17, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1828 Jay Street, Detroit.
