Obituary

Mary Ann Czarnik, a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and dear sister, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2026, at the age of 95.

Raised in Southwest Detroit's Delray neighborhood, Mary Ann was proud of her Hungarian heritage and valued her close-knit family, remaining close to her three sisters and two brothers throughout their lives. She was a proud graduate of Southwestern High School, class of 1949 - affectionately known as the "49ers."

In 1951, Mary Ann married the love of her life, Leo Czarnik. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised their family in Westland. Their retirement years were spent wintering at their condominium in Fort Myers, Florida, where they enjoyed golfing, soaking up the sunshine, and creating lifelong friendships.

A woman of deep and steadfast faith, Mary Ann remained a devout Catholic throughout her entire life.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 67 years, Leo, her daughter Evelyn, and her son Richard.

Mary Ann's legacy of love lives on through her surviving children: Alan (Lisa), Robert (Darlene), Carolyn Bolitho (Darryl), and Christine Lollar (Jim). She is also survived by her nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 11, from 2:00 - 7:00 PM at O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home, 41555 Grand River Ave. Novi, MI 48375.
