Marjorie Joan Thompson peacefully departed this earth on November 3, 2026, at the age of 92. She was born in Saginaw, Michigan to Stephen and Mary Svrcina. Marjorie was joined in marriage to Wayne Fredrickson for 47 years until his passing in January 2004. They were blessed with 2 daughters, Lori (the late Russ) Vandiver, and Tammy (Rick) Sutton. She was a proud grandmother to Kristen (Tyler) Garroutte, Amanda Hartwell, Jenna Sutton, and Erica Vandiver, and a treasured great-grandmother to Henry Hartwell. Several years after the passing of her first husband, Wayne, Marjorie married George Thompson, with whom she spent 18 years until his passing in 2025.
Marjorie’s life reflected her strong faith, genuine love for her family and friends, and her desire to serve and uplift others. She gave her heart to Jesus at a young age and served the church faithfully for many years in various roles.
Marjorie loved her family dearly and cherished every moment with each one of them. Her love was reflected in the joy she found spending time with her family – cooking their favorite foods, playing games late into the night, or celebrating each one’s accomplishments. She also enjoyed hosting gatherings with her friends. Each person held a special place in her heart, and she was careful to maintain these connections wherever she lived.
Whether it was traveling, attending baseball games, shopping, or swing band concerts, Marjorie was up for any adventure and enjoyed exploring and learning wherever life would take her. Her radiant smile and welcoming presence brought joy and comfort to so many people. She will be forever loved and deeply missed by everyone who knew her.
A celebration of life service will be held Sunday, November 8, 2026, at 12pm (Visitation at 11am) at O’Brien Sullivan Funeral Home at 41555 Grand River Avenue Novi, MI 48375.
