Margaret Mary Meyer, 68, passed away surrounded by the love of her family on April 26, 2018 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan.
Margaret was born along with her twin brother Michael in Detroit to Harold Ted and Margaret Lois Leaver on September 1, 1949. She went to high school at New Haven High School and graduated in 1967. She went on to earn a Bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan and a Master's degree from Oakland University. She worked as a teacher for many years serving at several schools and finished her career in the Walled Lake school district. She loved flowers, movies, reading and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Margaret is survived by her husband Michael, son Joseph (Chaise), grandchildren Reece and Lily, sister in law Marcia, brothers David (Kathleen) Leaver, Harold (Brenda) Leaver and Michael (Brigid) Leaver, sisters Ann (Rick) Underwood, Lois Priestly and many nieces and nephews. Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Margaret and her brother Jim.
Visitation will be held at O'Brien - Sullivan Funeral Home 41555 Grand River Sunday April 29, 2018 from 2:00 – 8:00 pm with a KofC rosary at 7:30pm.
In state at St. Mary Magdalen Church 2201 South Old U.S. 23 Highway Brighton, MI 48114 on Monday April 30, 2018 from 10:00 until the funeral Liturgy at 11:00 am .
Flowers or plants are welcome at the funeral home/services. Otherwise donations can be made to Pulmonary Sarcoidosis Research at the University of Michigan in Margaret's name.
