Margaret "Jean" Grant
May 26, 1935 – November 5, 2025
Margaret Jean Grant, known to her family and friends as Jean, age 90, of Novi, Michigan, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2025. She was born on May 26, 1935, in Alvinston, Ontario, to the late Martyn and Margaret (McCollum) McAlpine.
Jean was the beloved wife of the late Donald William Grant and a devoted mother to Michael (Jeannine), David (Frances), and Robert (Karen) Grant. She was also a loving grandmother to Megan (Taylor), Michelle (Frank), Michael (Kristen), Marc, Kyle (Jessica), Molly, Morgan, and Nicholas; and a proud great-grandmother to Jaden, Matthew, Natalee, Isaac, Thalia-Rose, Taylor, Myles, Noah, and Landon. Jean was also the sister of her late dear sister, Kathryn Grace Raggett.
Jean worked as a dedicated Medical Technologist, a role in which she brought compassion, diligence, and care to those she served, then a Homemaker to her 3 children. She had a lifelong love of animals and a passion for gardening, finding joy and peace in nurturing life in all its forms.
A visitation will be held on Friday, November 14th, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 24505 Meadowbrook Road, Novi, MI 48375. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM and a Luncheon at 12:15 pm at a nearby Restaurant, Internment to take place privately.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Michigan Humane Society or the Oakland County Animal Shelter , in honor of Jean's love for animals.
Jean will be remembered for her kindness, gentle spirit, and the deep love she had for her family. Her legacy of warmth, generosity, and care will live on in all who were blessed to know her.
