In Loving Memory of Lorrie Gilmore
July 28, 1956 – June 24, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Lorrie Gilmore on June 24, 2025, at the age of 68.

Born on July 28, 1956, Lorrie was the beloved daughter of the late Louis and Laura Gilmore. She was a devoted mother to Joshua (Jenise) Turchan and Logan Turchan, and a cherished grandmother to Zoey Turchan, who held a very special place in her heart. Lorrie's love for Zoey was deep and abiding, and one of her most treasured memories was taking her family to Disney World, a trip full of laughter and love.

Lorrie is also survived by her loving brothers: Lou, twin brother, Lamont (Terese), and Lance (Maria) Gilmore. She was a proud and involved aunt who adored spending time with her extended family, always offering her wisdom, warmth, and humor.

Lorrie was a graduate of Sacred Heart School in Dearborn, MI, and spent over two decades working at St. Mary's Childcare Center, where she helped nurture and guide countless young children. Her dedication to her work created bonds that have stood the test of time, and her legacy lives on in the lives of the many families she touched.

More than anything, Lorrie was known for her heart. She was a caring and devoted mother who always made time for others—whether that meant a home-cooked meal, a ride, a listening ear, or a loving nudge in the right direction. She was often known as a "community mom," someone who embraced others as family and gave of herself selflessly.

Lorrie leaves behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and generosity that will not be forgotten.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home, 41555 Grand River Avenue, Novi, MI.

Funeral services will take place at the same location on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at 11:00 AM, with an hour of visitation beginning at 10:00 AM.

Lorrie will be laid to rest at South Lyon Cemetery, where she will be remembered with love, gratitude, and deep respect by all who knew her.

She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
