Lorraine A. Smith, passed on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 in Bloomfield Hills at the age of 79. Beloved wife of the late Joseph "Joe" Smith for 48 years. Loving sister of Robert (Juanita) Owiesny, and the late Daniel (late Beverly) Owiesny. Loving Aunt of Donna Owiesny, Mary (Dave) Owiesny, Barbara (Thomas) Trudel, Diane (James) Eley, Gerald Owiesny, Kristine (Karl) Malmsheimer, Cheryl (Schad) Schwarmberger, Lori (Scott) Gradel and Eric (Shareen) Owiesny, Daniel (Meghan) Smith, David (Amanda) Smith, Josh (Stephanie) Heidt, Cody (Bryan) Schwartz and Travis (Kalynn) Heidt plus numerous great nieces and nephews. 40 year career with U.S. Department of Labor, Wage & Hour Division. Promoted to professional investigator and then to regional level official. Earned both bachelors and masters degrees as adult. 16 years retired. Performed volunteer service at Fisher Theater, Providence Park Hospital and Holy Family Parish clothes locker, Novi. Visitation at the O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home, 41555 Grand River Avenue, Novi, 248-348-1800 on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 from 2:00 PM -8:00 PM with a scripture service at 7:00 PM. Instate Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 24505 Meadowbrook Road, Novi from 10:00 AM until time of funeral liturgy 10:30 AM. Inurnment will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly MI at a later date.
