Obituary

Lorraine Marie Kemmer, age 66, passed away peacefully August 7th, 2020 following a 23-month battle with terminal brain cancer. She was born on September 25th, 1953 in Dearborn, Michigan to John and Anna Seruga. Lorraine attended Fordson High School and earned a bachelor's degree in Accounting from Western Michigan University. She married the love of her life, Frank Kemmer, in August of 1978.
Lorraine filled every room with energy, laughter, and dance. She had an immense passion for music, and always loved dancing to her favorite pop songs. Staying fit was a top priority for her, and she rose at the crack of dawn every day to go to the gym where she would cycle and work out with her good friends.
She had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome and special whether they were old friends or new acquaintances. Her friends and family knew her as a great hostess who loved to entertain and make people smile.
Lorraine was also the owner of a successful technology business that she co-founded with her husband in 1983. Although she had a very successful business career, her greatest skill was being an expert at juggling the requirements of the business while still being a great mom to her children.
Her life was a living example of the Bible verse, Colossians 3:12 - "Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience." Everyone was her friend, and she offered kindness to each person she met. She was kind, goofy, humble, and never afraid to be herself. Her family and friends will always miss and remember her as a wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend.
Lorraine is survived by her husband, Frank Kemmer, and her three children: Allison Scafuri (Brett), Andrew Kemmer (Katlyn), and Amanda Kemmer (fiancée Xavier). She is also survived by her brother Robert Seruga (Diane), her sister MaryAnne Walblay, her brother Ed Seruga, her sister Barbara Abey (Bernard) and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she loved so very much.
Lorraine was predeceased by her parents, John and Anna Seruga, and her mother-in-law Katharine Kemmer.
