Obituary

Lois Jane Nugent, age 88, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026, in Farmington Hills, Michigan, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on August 26, 1937, in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, Lois lived a life defined by kindness, thoughtfulness, and devotion to those she loved. She was a friendly and caring woman whose gentle spirit touched the lives of many.

Throughout her career, Lois held a variety of positions, ultimately retiring as a Billing Supervisor with AB-TICO. She took pride in her work and was respected by colleagues for her dedication and professionalism.

Lois found joy in life's simple pleasures. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, playing cards, and reading, hobbies that reflected both her creativity and her love of spending time with others. Above all else, she was most proud of her children and grandchildren, who were the center of her world. Some of her happiest moments were spent with family, especially when her grandchildren would entertain her by singing songs just for her.

Family and friends will fondly remember her frequent expression, "Oh dear!", a phrase that always brought a smile and perfectly reflected her warm and caring nature.

Lois is survived by her beloved sister, Joan Henk (Fred Henk); her loving daughters, Leslie Green (Mike Green), Theresa Hawes (Rick Hawes), and Tamara Evans (Gary Evans); and her cherished grandchildren, Ryan Knopp, (Lindsey Knopp), Jena Lozar (Ryan Lozar) Marnie Hawes, Brittany Evans (Josh Miles) and Fallon Hawes.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Lingnowski and Alice Lingnowski (née Weber).

Lois was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of kindness, compassion, and unwavering love for her family will continue to live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. James Catholic Church on a date to be decided soon. Please check back for an update regarding the service. Following the Mass, Lois will be taken to her final place of rest at All Saints Cemetery in Waterford, Michigan.

May she rest in eternal peace.
