Obituary

Linda B. King, (AKA Novi's Litter Lady) 75, of Novi, Michigan, passed away on August 11, 2023. She was born on April 26, 1948, in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Linda was a strong-willed and respected individual who dedicated herself to her passions.

Linda had a deep love for her community and cleanliness. She would always carry a gripper gloves, garbage bags, and other cleaning supplies in her car. It was not uncommon for her to pull over on the side of the road to clean up any mess she came across. Her dedication to keeping her city and other places clean was unwavering. Even after returning home from a trip, Linda would drop off her husband and head back out to clean up any trash she had noticed. Her commitment to cleanliness will be greatly missed by so many.

Aside from her passion for cleaning, Linda enjoyed spending time with her grandson who often tortured her by making her watch crazy YouTube videos. She would also venture across the hall to her daughters place who lived in the same building and start cleaning while offering lectures about not leaving her water bottles and gum wrappers everywhere. In her leisure time, Linda could always be found with a book in hand, accompanied by her magnifying glass and chip clips to mark her place. She cherished reading and refused to switch to digital devices, preferring the tangible experience of a physical book.

Linda is survived by her daughter Christy Deringer and her husband Brad, her son Richard Kroth and his wife Carrie, her grandson Jon, her granddaughters Abigail and Lelaina, her "Good" Louisiana daughter Wendi, her beloved grandfuries Bandit and Lilo, and Donna "B," who was always told she was switched at birth with her real daughter Christy. She is also survived by her sister Diane Keenan.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband, David King, whom she bid farewell to "until we meet again" on August 17, 2022 She was also preceded by her mother, Marie Moore, her father, Robert Keenan, her stepmother, Margaret Keenan, and her baby sister, Sharon.

Linda proudly served in the Army from 1966 to 1969 and carried the values she learned during her time in the military throughout her entire life.

In addition to her hobbies of reading and writing letters to her sister in Ohio, Linda truly found joy in cleaning up trash. She believed in the importance of maintaining a clean environment and took it upon herself to make a difference.

Per Linda's wishes, there will not be a formal service. Cremation has been chosen as her final disposition.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to Serenity Home Hospice. Linda's family is grateful for the support and care provided by the hospice during her final days.

Linda B. King will be remembered for her strong will, dedication, and love for her community. Her presence and the impact she made on those around her will be deeply missed. May she rest in peace.
