Obituary

In Loving Memory of Lido Peter Aldini, Jr.
June 29, 1956 – October 28, 2026

Lido Peter Aldini, Jr. born June 29, 1956, passed away on October 28, 2026 at the age of 70.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lido and Mary Aldini; his brother, Timothy Aldini; and his daughter, Sarah Aldini. He is survived by his loving children, Michael (Lesley) Aldini and Julia Schall, and by his brothers Thomas Aldini and John Aldini. He was the beloved grandfather of Samantha Schall, Lucas Schall, Gabriella Ashton, Mackenzie Ashton, Henry Aldini, and Benjamin Aldini.

Lido valued his family above all else. He married the love of his life Theresa, and together they raised their children Julia, Michael and Sarah. Even through the immensely difficult circumstances he faced in the passing of his daughter Sarah, conquering cancer and enduring a lifetime plagued by mental illness, his children always knew their father's love and he remained committed to being the best possible version of himself in freely giving his love, guidance and presence every single day.

Of all the blessings in his life, none brought him greater joy in his final years than his six grandchildren. Being a grandfather was one of his proudest and most cherished roles. Affectionately known as "Boppa," their accomplishments brought him immense joy and he treasured every photograph and moment spent with them.

Growing up in the Catholic church, Lido was a man of deep and unwavering faith. He was proud of his Catholic faith, which served as the foundation of his values, his decisions and the way he approached life. His devotion to God brought him strength, comfort and purpose throughout his years. He leaves behind a legacy of faith in his family, who find peace in knowing he has been welcomed into the eternal embrace of his Heavenly Father.

Lido had a successful career as a respiratory therapist and an accomplished pharmaceutical sales representative, retiring to focus on his health, family and hobbies.

He was a talented piano and organ player and enjoyed learning to play the electric guitar in his later years, passing his love of playing the piano and sparking the desire to learn instruments to his daughter Julia and granddaughter Samantha. He had a passion for boats and cars, spending many summers on Lake St. Clair boating with his family. He loved talking about and sharing these interests with his loved ones, and made many memories attending local boat and car shows with his son Michael. He had a quick and unique sense of humor and the ability to engage any audience in conversation and storytelling.

Lido took pride in the maintenance of his home and fixing things. He was the type of man who would snow blow the sidewalk around the subdivision in the winter to help his neighbors, and would give rides on his riding lawnmower to his children in the summer. He was the go-to handy man for his family- taking a look at cars, lawnmowers, plumbing and painting endless rooms. You could always count on him to lend a helping hand with a smile, always giving the best of himself to those that he loved.

Lido's interests also included digital photography. At every family function he was always behind his camera, creatively capturing memories that his family will share and love for years to come as his legacy is remembered and shared with future generations. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family and all who knew and loved him.

In keeping with Lido's immeasurably huge heart and character, and in deep gratitude for a blessing his family has received in their time of mourning, we encourage his friends and family to "pay it forward" with an act of kindness to a friend, family member, neighbor or stranger in his honor and memory.

Lido will be interred at Glen Eden Memorial Park at 35667 West 8 Mile Road in Livonia, Michigan on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. His family and friends are invited to attend a brief prayer service led by Father Dennis of Our Lady Victory Church at 12pm, at the cemetery, prior to Lido's interment.
