LaRay M. Anderson, age 60, passed away on December 8, 2023, after a valiant four-year battle with cancer. He was born on September 7, 1963, in Topeka, Kansas, to Marolyn (Denk) and the late Lyle Anderson. LaRay leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and resilience.
LaRay was the beloved husband of Marti (Cox) for 31 years, a union filled with love and shared experiences. He was a devoted father to Julie (Chris) Cundy and took immense pride in being a grandfather to Evan and William. Family was at the center of LaRay's life, and his warmth and kindness left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know him.
As the dear brother of Lance (Caroline), Damon (Laura), and Dustin (Carrie) Anderson, LaRay was part of a close-knit family that provided unwavering support during his courageous battle against cancer. His memory will be cherished by his siblings, each of whom shared in the joys and challenges of life alongside him.
LaRay's passion for golf was a defining aspect of his life. An avid golfer, he found solace and joy on the golf course, playing numerous times a week. His commitment to the sport was reflected in his membership at Walnut Creek Country Club and his collegiate golfing career at the University of Kansas. The camaraderie and competition of the game were a source of great fulfillment for LaRay, and his enthusiasm for golf brought joy to those around him.
Professionally, Mr. Anderson was the proud owner and operator of Summit Dealer Services. His dedication to his work and his commitment to excellence earned him the respect of colleagues and clients alike. LaRay's entrepreneurial spirit and leadership left an enduring impact on the business community.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Friday, December 15, 2023, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the O'Brien Sullivan Funeral Home, located at 41555 Grand River Ave, Novi, MI 48375. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 10:00 am, providing an opportunity to celebrate LaRay's life and honor his memory.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society, reflecting LaRay's desire to support ongoing research and initiatives aimed at defeating the disease that touched his life.
