Obituary

Kyle Robert Leffert, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and cherished friend, passed away tragically on April 20, 2024, after a brief but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 61 years old.

Kyle's warm and infectious personality touched the lives of all who knew him. He had an unparalleled ability to bring a smile to the faces of those around him, making every interaction a moment of joy.

Born to John Jacob and Elinor Joan Leffert, Kyle grew up surrounded by love in Rome, NY. It was there that he developed his deep love for spending time near water, particularly swimming and fishing on the tranquil shores of Star Lake, one of his most cherished places.

Throughout his life, Kyle had a passion for adventure and exploration. He found immense joy in planning and embarking on road trips with his beloved family. From the rocky coastlines of Maine to the breathtaking landscapes of Yellowstone and the serene beauty of Sleeping Bear Dunes, Kyle created countless cherished memories during these journeys.

Professionally, Kyle enjoyed a remarkable career spanning 32 years at Ford Motor Company, where his dedication and hard work earned him numerous accolades and the respect of his colleagues. Most recently, he contributed his talents to Sandvik, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of working alongside him.

Kyle's greatest source of pride and joy, however, was his family. He shared 35 wonderful years of marriage with his devoted wife, Vanessa, and together they raised two incredible children, Kaitlyn (Matt) and Evan. Kyle's love and support knew no bounds, and his family meant everything to him.

Kyle was also a cherished member of a large and loving family, one of seven siblings. He shared a special bond with each of his siblings: Roberta (Dan), Chris (Dennis), Jacque (Steve), Thea (Dave), Doug (Cindy), and Mary (John). He adored his numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins and cherished the time spent with them.

In honor of Kyle's memory, a gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, April 26, from 5-8pm at the O'Brien Sullivan funeral home, 41555 Grand River Avenue, Novi. A small funeral service will take place in Star Lake, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network ., helping to support research and awareness for this devastating disease.

Kyle's kindness, compassion, and zest for life will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he may no longer be with us, his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those he loved and touched. Rest in peace, dear Kyle.
