Kenneth L. "Kenny" Baker, was born March 11th, 1942, in Dayton, Ohio.
In 1950 his family moved to Westerly, Rhode Island, where he was raised with his three sisters, Carol, Linda, and Bonnie.
In 1968, after graduating from the University of Rhode Island, Kenny moved to the Detroit area, where he began a long and successful career in sales, and eventually started his family with fellow Westerly native Karen Baker (Singer).
In 2005, Kenny married his second wife, Mary (Kenrick) to whom he was married for 17 years until her passing in April of 2022.
Known to his many friends as "Bakes" or "Shake n' Bake," Kenny was a devoted Michigan football fan, a fanatical golfer, and the life of any party. Kenny was lifetime member of Meadowbrook Country Club where he was always working on the latest "adjustments" to his swing or grip and in the winters he went south to Naples, Florida so he never missed a season to golf. He held season tickets at Michigan Stadium for over 30 years, toured great golf courses from California to Scotland, and along the way, always enjoyed himself and parked his car wherever he pleased.
Kenny lived life on his own terms, and when his body no longer afforded him that freedom, he left it behind.
Kenny passed the day before his 84th birthday, in Novi Michigan. He was preceded in death by his late wife, Mary, to whom he was married for 18 years. He is survived by his aforementioned sisters, his children, Robin Lukason (Dave) and Justin, and his grandson Evan Patzert.
Visitation will be held at the O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home, 41555 Grand River Ave, Novi, MI, 48375 on Friday, March 20, 2026 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Kenneth will be laid to rest next to his late wife Mary, during a private ceremony with his family at Holy Sepulchre.
