Obituary

Keith Archibald McLellan, age 87, passed away March 3, 2015 at Manor of Novi Nursing Home in Novi, Michigan. Keith was born January 5, 1928 to William Archibald and Amy (Otto) McLellan in Detroit, Michigan. The family moved back to Truro, Novia Scotia, while he was very young. In his mid-teens, the family moved back to Detroit. Keith is a graduate of Cass Tech High School and the University of Detroit
Keith enlisted in the Navy at the end WWII; he served on an LST and was stationed in the Pacific. Upon his discharge from the service, Keith married Eunice Mae Meyers in 1949. He enrolled at the University of Detroit in 1951 and completed his Bachelor's Degree in Business in just three years, graduating in 1954. Keith was a clothing buyer for J.L. Hudson's for 20 years, and worked in the Hudson building in downtown Detroit for most of those years. After his years at Hudson's, he concluded his career as an independent clothing salesman.
Keith and Eunice were two of the founding members of Dunning Park Bible Chapel in Redford where Keith served as leader for many years, including as a trustee and Sunday school teacher. Keith was an avid sailor and taught sailing for many years through American Youth Hostel (AYH). He also built two small sail boats for his family. He enjoyed woodworking and building small furniture pieces in his garage- workshop.
Keith is survived by his wife of 65 years, Eunice; sisters, Lois Lind and Peggy (Ed) Burdick; sons David (Andrea) McLellan and Daniel (Vicki) McLellan; grandchildren Kelly (Jeremy) Deckard; Scott (Atara) McLellan; Jason Trzos, Nicholas Trzos, Jennifer (Marcus) Ladouceur; Brian (Rebecca Martel) McLellan; 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Gordon and Gerald and daughter Debra.
A memorial service for Keith will be held at 11 am on Saturday, March 21 at Dunning Park Bible Chapel; 24800 West Chicago, Redford, MI. Friends may visit the family at the church prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bair Lake Bible Camp; ‎12500 Prang Street, Jones, MI 49061.
