Kay Ann (Simancek) Seelye
July 21, 1948 – July 28, 2025

Kay Ann Seelye, age 77, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2025, in Lake Orion, Michigan, while in hospice care after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Born in Detroit on July 21, 1948, Kay was a 1966 graduate of Willie E. Groves High School and went on to earn her degree from Valparaiso University in 1970. She dedicated much of her professional life to the family business, Satellite Engineering & Manufacturing, where she worked as a business manager and accountant until 2005. She later continued her career in accounting at the Suburban Collection, where she worked in accounts payable for nearly a decade.

Kay was a vibrant and creative spirit who cherished time with her family. She loved skiing, golfing, and traveling—especially family vacations that created lifelong memories. Holidays like Halloween and Christmas were her favorites, and she took great joy in planning family reunions, parties, and gatherings.
A gifted artist, Kay created beautiful woven reed baskets, intricately stamped greeting cards, and lovely ceramics. She also played the organ and, in her youth, took dance lessons with her beloved twin brother, Jay.

Kay is survived by her loving brothers: Gary Simancek, Bob Simancek (Diane), and her twin, Jay Simancek (Marianne). She was a devoted aunt to Mark Simancek (Dawn), Tim Simancek (Stacy), Dave Simancek (Valerie), Rachel Everett (Michael), Jeffery Simancek (Clysta), Julie Jeffries (Mike), and Lindsay Simancek-Cummins (Shawn). She also leaves behind many grand-nieces and nephews, cousins, and cherished friends.

Kay's warmth, creativity, and boundless love for her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 12:00 pm at the O'Brien Sullivan Funeral Home, 41555 Grand River Ave, Novi, MI 48375. Kay's final resting place will be at Glen Eden Memorial Park.

Her family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in honor of Kay's memory and in support of continued research and care.
