Kathleen T. Collins "Kathy"
Having suffered a stroke on August 9, Kathy was called home to be with her Lord on August
17, 2023, while surrounded by her loved ones in her daughter's home. She was a devoted,
loving, fun, caring and generous Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt and friend,
leaving a large circle of loved ones to mourn her loss.
Over the course of her 94 years, she touched many lives as a preschool and substitute teacher
in her early years, retiring from Baptist Manor after 25 years as an administrator, member of
First Baptist Church of Detroit for 50+ years and a fan of Stevenson High School (Livonia)
Athletics.
Wherever she lived (Botsford Commons, Forever Young Living, Orchard View Care Home), she
was a bright light to both the residents and the staff. In her more recent years she has enjoyed
reading, playing games and traveling when able.
She will always be remembered for her caring interest in others and her joyful heart. Although
facing very challenging situations she always recognized and gave thanks for her many
blessings. Her deep faith and relationship with her Lord Jesus brought her much comfort and
hope. We too, are comforted knowing that she is now healed, is rejoicing with our Lord and
that we will see her again.
