Judith Ann Groty (nee Martin), age 83, a resident of Strongsville, Ohio passed away, Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at Southwest General Medical Center in Middleburg Heights, OH. Beloved sister to Nancy (Ronald deceased), Eunice (deceased), loving mother to Christopher (Michelle) and Jeffrey (Crystal), two grandchildren (Laine and Payten), and five nephews and twelve grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Esther (nee Loffman) Martin. Judy graduated from Cooley High School in 1957 and then she received her undergraduate degree from Mercy College in Medical Records Science in 1961, followed by a degree in Master's Management from Aquinas College in 1987. She worked in Lansing for the Michigan Medical records division of Lansing General Hospital and subsequently moved to the Cleveland where she worked for Kaiser Permanente in similar roles. After leaving the medical arena, Judy became Director for the Berea (Ohio) Chamber of Commerce. Judy remained active in both various political initiatives and an active member in the Unity Church located in Strongsville, OH. Judy enjoyed participating in many activities, but especially liked playing word and board games, travel to the Orient and China, annually attending the Traverse City Film Festival, health and wellness awareness, and enjoying her favorite jazz music. Viewing will take place at O'Brien-Sullivan Funeral Home located at 41555 Grand River Ave, Novi, MI 48375 on Friday, July 15 from 2pm – 8pm and a prayer vigil service at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 16 at the funeral home. Interment will take place immediately after at Parkview Memorial Cemetery, located at 32405 Five Mile Road, Livonia, MI 48154. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Judy's name are suggested to a charity of your choice.
