Obituary

In Loving Memory of Joyce Marie McBride
Joyce Marie McBride, born on May 20, 1929, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on February 13, 2024. She was 94 years old.

Joyce was a vibrant and feisty soul, known for her exceptional culinary skills, particularly her famous chicken and noodles that brought joy to the hearts and stomachs of those lucky enough to savor her creations. She dedicated her life to raising seven children, the late Jimmy, Donnie (Mary), Marcia (Greg), Suzanne Bradley, Gayle (Michael), the late Dale, and Robin, providing them with love, care, and unwavering support. Also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

For 25 years, Joyce called the Walled Lake Villa her home, where she formed lasting friendships with many residents. Her sociable nature and lively spirit made her a beloved member of the community. Joyce found joy in card games, especially pinochle, and she was an avid reader who actively participated in various book clubs. Her interest in Amish literature stemmed from her late husband's Mennonite background, and she also enjoyed suspenseful books that kept her captivated.

Television was another source of entertainment for Joyce, with a particular fondness for legal dramas such as Law and Order, Judge Mathis, and Judge Judy. She and her late husband cherished RV trips, creating cherished memories together before his passing.

Joyce adored spending time with her family and had a special place in her heart for children. Her pride in her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren was evident to all who knew her. Her busy and social nature kept her engaged in various activities, and she was always ready for a good conversation or a card game with friends.

Visitation to celebrate Joyce's life will be held at O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, starting at 11:00 AM. The Funeral Service will commence at 12:00 noon, offering an opportunity for family and friends to come together, share memories, and pay their respects to a woman whose vibrant spirit will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those she touched.
