Josie started life at 4747 Brandon Street (Detroit). She lived a life of Faith, Hope, and Love. Touching hearts with kindness, strength, and a generous spirit. She was a lifelong member of Saint Hedwig Parish. Always volunteering in whatever needed to be done. From cooking funeral luncheons to cleaning the Church. Which was instrumental in starting, and then establishing as a permanent event the Saint Hedwig Bingo Program. Earning the gratitude of the Parish Pastor for her time and dedication to making that event a success.
She was a unique and special individual for a woman with a skill not recognized by Society at that time. She was a first-rate athlete. A major talent in the Women Fast Pitch Softball league. She was also a rated Bowling contender for organized teams in the city.
Always first and foremost, the Love for her Family. She spent many hours teaching her daughter Carol, and nieces the fine art of preparing and cooking Polish food. Every Christmas was always a memorable trip to J. L. Hudson downtown to see the window displays and holiday decorations inside the store. This was always followed up by a special luncheon treat afterwards, a stop at the Sanders counter.
Josie was an avid vegetable gardener, BOY Scout leader, Seamstress (The girls were recipients of handmade Raggedy Ann / Andy dolls), good neighbor, and friendly to anyone she came in contact with. Thank you for making a difference in all of us. Showing us how trusting the Lord can shape our lives. Job WELL DONE !
