Joseph (Joe) Kirk, a loving father, grandfather, and cherished friend passed away on May 24, 2023, at the age of 86. Born on August 26, 1936, he was the beloved son of the late Irene and Joseph Kirkeszner.
Joe leaves behind a lasting legacy. He was the proud father of Kathy Kirk, Shari (John) Fleming, and Mike (Leslie) Kirk and grandfather to Jack, Charlie, Madison and Max. He enjoyed his time with them and sharing his love of the outdoors and sports. He was proud to say that he helped each grandchild catch their first fish, a passion some still hold today as grown adults. Joe was also a loving brother to Jerry (Judy) Kulka and a caring uncle to Jeff, John, and Don.
He lived life to the fullest, embracing his passions and exploring the great outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, finding solace in nature. Joe also possessed a deep love for tennis which he played until his eighties. His dedication to an active lifestyle was a great inspiration to others.
After attending Fordson High School in Dearborn, Joe graduated from Michigan Tech in 1958 which prepared him for a long career ending with a 30-year career at Ford Motor Company.
Joe will be dearly missed by his family and friends. His sweet smile, teasing manner, and the twinkle in his eye will always be remembered. As we bid farewell to our father, grandfather, and friend we will find comfort in our own special memories.
Donations in Joe's honor can be made to the American Cancer Society.
