Joseph Herman Jansen died Friday, January 23rd 2009, age 85, at his residence in Novi , Michigan . He was born April 3, 1923 in Port Huron to the late John and Emma (McEachin) Jansen. Joe graduated from St. Stephen High School , the University of Detroit and served in the U.S. Army during WWII. On October 6, 1951 he married Mary Jo Meyer. He worked as the accountant/controller for Precision Hardware from 1951 to 1991. Joe is survived by his wife Mary Jo; five children, Terry Jansen, Joan (Richard) Dunn, Joseph (Beverly Schwagle) Jansen, Peter (Deborah Day) Jansen, Mary Ann (Metin) Dogu; a sister Barbara Fenner; eight grandchildren; Kyeshna (Chris Morehouse) Jansen, John (Rebecca) Jansen, Jennie Jansen, Alex Dogu, Mark (Su-Young) Schwagle, Matt (Heidi) Schwagle, James and Joseph Dunn; two great-grandchildren, Kailey Swiss and Travis Morehouse; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Donald and Charles; and one sister, Mary Maurer. Family will receive friends Saturday January 31st 2009 at 10:00am with a prayer service at 12:30pm in the Belmont Clubhouse at Fox Run, 41100 13 Mile Road , Novi .
