Dr. John H. Romanik, M.D. was born on October 20, 1935 in Cheboygan, MI. He died on August 20, 2015 in Minneapolis, MN. He married Carol (Hierholzer) on May 28, 1960. Graduated from Pellston High School and he then went on to graduate from University of Detroit and from St. Louis University Medical School. He served his residency at Henry Ford Hospital. He was Director of the Children's Ward at Maybury Sanatorium. Private Practice as a Pediatrician in Farmington and then later moved his practice to Novi. He was Chairman of Department of Pediatrics at Providence Hospital and retired in 1991. He is predeceased by his sons Matthew and Peter Romanik and two brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his wife Carol and four children: Dr. Elizabeth (Paul) Kinzie, Andrew Romanik, David (Kristine) Romanik, Dr. Anne-Marie (Paul) Patenaude and daughter-in-law, Dr. Susi Romanik. Grandfather of Abigail, Jack, Ben, Caitlyn, Alex, Liberty, Emma, Victor, Noah and Spencer. Brother of Irene (Romanik) Pukala and Chester Romanik. Dr. Romanik was a member of American Academy of Pediatrics, Old Timers of Northville, Lector at Our Lady of Victory Church and Salvation Army organizer of Bell Ringers. His hobbies were his grandchildren, wood working, camping, traveling, cruising and playing cards. Special thanks to the Dr. Chester Hoyt family for his Gift of Life 20 years ago.
