Obituary

John Stanley Jushkewich
March 2, 1946 – May 18, 2025

John Stanley Jushkewich, 79, of Novi, Michigan, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2025.

Born on March 2, 1946, in Detroit, Michigan, John was a graduate of Edsel Ford High School, Class of 1965. After high school, he proudly enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during the Vietnam War as an Electrician aboard both the USS Barney and the USS Fred T. Berry. His military service was a defining chapter in his life and a source of great pride.

John had a deep curiosity about how things worked and possessed a rare talent for fixing nearly anything. From mechanical repairs to electronics, he had both the intellect and the patience to solve problems others couldn't.

John was a man of many interests. He enjoyed radio-controlled aviation, gardening, cooking, boating, camping, and following his favorite sports teams — especially the Detroit Lions, Tigers, Red Wings, and the Michigan State Spartans. He was a small business owner and a dedicated member of the St. James Catholic Church community in Novi, where he served as a lector. He also gave back through the Goodfellows Club of Detroit, raising funds to support children in need.

John is survived by his loving wife, Diane Jushkewich; his son, Nick Jushkewich; and his sisters, Carol and Suzann. He will be remembered for his intelligence, his resourcefulness, and his many talents — and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
