John Gilbert Berent Age 88

John was born November 22, 1930 in Detroit Michigan to the late John and Theresa (Wisniewski).
While enrolled at Wayne State University John joined the Unites States Air Force and served in the Korea Conflict. Upon his return, he attended Lawrence Technical University and graduated with a degree in engineering. John worked for Chrysler, LTV and then settled at Holly Carburetor where he worked for over 30 years.
John married his beloved wife Darlene in 1957.
John and Darlene were avid travelers having visited all seven continents. John enjoyed fishing, golf, and coaching. John loved to do research whether it was for financial recommendations for his children or to dominate the fantasy football league. The greatest joy in John's life was his children Daniel J. (Barb), Bryan E. (Allison), Matthew K. (Cathy), and Sandra J.
He is the proud Papa of Nicholas, Erica, Stephanie, Christopher, Brookelle, Travis, Cassidy, Mason, Leah and the late Kasey and Great Papa of Liliana, Solomon and Eleanor.
John is the brother of Alan Berent and the late Don Berent and Deanna Kolano.
Visitation at the O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home 41555 Grand River Novi 248-348-1800 Tuesday 3-8pm.
In state at St Matthew Lutheran Church 2040 S Commerce Rd, Walled Lake, MI Wednesday 9:00am until the funeral Liturgy at 10:00am followed by Military Honors.
Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery Holly, Michigan.
