Joanne Mary Deptula, age 85 of West Bloomfield, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2021. She was born on April 26, 1936 to the late Clara and Stanley Michalowicz in Detroit, Michigan.
She was the beloved and devoted wife of 37 years to the late Alfred Deptula; loving mother of Rene (Gregory) Gozdor, Anne (Lynn) Natzic, Lisa (Joe) Moore, dear grandmother to Tyler, Morgan, Courtney, A.J., Leah, Brielle, Marissa, Ashley, and Lauren. She was predeceased by her brother Norbert Michalowicz and her sister Alfreda Dabkowski.
Joanne was the matriarch of her family and continuously sought opportunities to bring both her immediate and extended family together. She was an avid bridge player and an amazing gourmet cook. Joanne would discover new recipes and try them out on family and friends while entertaining in her home. Her adventurous nature took her on many trips later in life ranging from local expeditions to intercontinental travel.
Visitation 4-8 pm Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at O'Brien Sullivan Funeral Home 41555 Grand River Avenue, Novi 248.348.1800. Scripture service 7pm Wednesday. Funeral mass 10:30 am Thursday January 6, 2022 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church 4300 Walnut Lake Road, West Bloomfield with visitation from 10 am until time of mass. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield.
