JoAnn Mackrain, 78, of Novi, MI passed peacefully on Monday, April 26, 2021. Born in Detroit on May 9, 1942, she was the loving mother of Tanya (Tom), Renee (Mark) and Katrina.
Loving grandmother of Jacob, Luca, Ethan, Gianna and Mia.
With a ready smile and a faith-filled heart, JoAnn dedicated her life to helping others no matter their age or station in life.
She was passionate about education and volunteered to teach Catechism, lead Brownie troops and coordinate other activities for children.
JoAnn often drove friends to church and to other appointments. She volunteered as a hospice caregiver, sharing her love and compassion with ill people in the closing days of their lives.
JoAnn made her own life one of purpose and she instilled in her family an ethic of living for others.
She left an indelible mark on the hearts of the people who were blessed to know her. She will be greatly missed.
