January 30, 1936 – October 2, 2022

Beloved husband of Matina Vozis Palyvos 61 years together.

Loving father of Elaine (Adam Erickson) Palyvos.

Sweet son of the late Nick Palyvos and late Eleni Sakellariou.

Cherished grandfather of Alyssa Erickson.

Dear brother of the late Gus Palyvos and late Chris Palyvos.

Nieces Nitsa Palyvos Story, Stephanie Palyvos and nephew Nick Palyvos. Nick (Lauren) Story, Nicole Story, Ryan Palyvos, Bailey Palyvos, Corbin Story Palyvos, June Story & Violet Story, and many other dear nieces and nephews.

At age 16, Jim came to America in 1952, where he graduated from Ecorse High School. After high school he went on to become a millwright at Great Lake Steel for 45 years, retiring in 1999.

Jim was a very caring, funny, generous and smart man. His joy in life other than his family came from travel. He spent his retirement traveling back and forth to Greece where he built a home near his birthplace in Kranidi, Greece.

In lieu of flowers Jim's family asks that donations be made in his honor to Nativity of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church in Plymouth, 39851 Five Mile Rd, Plymouth, MI 48170, or St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Southgate, 16300 Dix Toledo Rd, Southgate, MI 48195.
