Jennie L. Ventura. On April 22, 2023 surrounded by her family, she peacefully passed away due to complications from Congestive Heart Failure. Jennie was born 1/18/1930 and lived most of her life in Uniontown PA. She graduated from South Union High School Class of 1947. Jennie later moved to Warren Ohio in 1993, and then in 2018 she moved to Sunrise of Northville Assisted Living in Plymouth MI to be close to her daughter.
Jennie was known as someone who had the unforgettable ability to light up a room and bring a smile to everyone she met. Throughout her life, she was always a hard worker who could accomplish anything she put her mind to. Out of High School she worked a summer at a Bullet Factory in Cleveland Ohio. During her adult life in Uniontown she worked at the A&P, as a beautician/owner of a Hair Salon, and as Co-owner of Ventura's Shoe Store & Dance Shop. At the age of 59 she went back to school to receive her LPN degree and then became a Caregiver and with Hospice patients for another 15 years.
Jennie was never one to sit still and had an insatiable thirst for learning and staying active. She was an avid reader until Macular Degeneration took away that ability. She loved trying new hobbies including stain glass, oil painting, crocheting, golfing and sewing. Jennie was as an outstanding cook and baker, especially known for her world famous "pepperoni rolls". She loved traveling throughout the United State and Europe, including nine times to Disney World. In Warren OH, she was an active member of the Red Hatters and SCOPE.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Brother Lebro Evangelista of Cleveland OH; Sister Aggie (Donald) Kulchock of Warren OH and Son-in-Law Manuel "Manny" Alvarez III of Novi MI.
She is survived by her daughter, Lauri Alvarez (Rod Feuell) of Plymouth MI; two Granddaughters Angela of Brooklyn NY and Alyssa of Chicago IL; Two step-granddaughters Kelley Feuell of Canton MI and Katie Feuell of Minneapolis MN; two brothers Anthony "Tony" (Paula) Evangelista Jr. of Warren OH and Leno "Dee" (Wanda) Evangelista of Uniontown PA; Sister Stella Nemeth of Warren OH and Sister-in-Law Claire Evangelista of Cleveland OH.
Per Jennie's wishes there will not be any public services. Her remains will be buried in a family plot in Warren OH. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the
