September 27, 1951 - March 20, 2024
Janice Lynn Atkinson of Wixom, Michigan passed away peacefully on March 20th surrounded by family and friends. Jan was the daughter of the late Richard and Henrietta Hall. She was survived by her husband of 23 years, Ray Atkinson and daughter Victoria (Ronald) Beck. Janice was blessed with dear friends, Jill (Ryan) and Andrea (Jeff). She gained many "kids", Kim, Sean, Michelle (Nick), Kris and Rob.
Janice was born September 27, 1951 in Detroit Michigan. There she graduated from Stevenson High School in 1967. She later attended Interlochen Arts and Academy and graduated in 1969 after studying the piano. At the age of 16, she started working as an insurance agent at Hershey's. She spent her career at Hudson & Muma, and retired from O'Conell's.
Janice loved spending summers on Mullet Lake at Silverlodge Resort. She loved lilacs, hummingbirds, making jewelry and growing her own herbs and vegetables. In 2012, Jan and her husband founded Wixom Weezles. A non-profit organization for ferrets needing a forever home.
