Janet L. Bennett died on April 28, 2020 at the age of 77. Jan was born on September 8, 1942 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Jan is survived by her husband of 55 years, Richard F. Bennett, and two sons: Andrew S., Michael J. and families.
Jan graduated from Pioneer High School (1960) in Ann Arbor. She attended Albion College (two years) and then graduated from Michigan State University (1964).
Jan worked as a swim instructor at the YWCA in New Orleans and a substitute teacher in Waynesboro, VA. For 20 years, Jan worked as the secretary in the Athletic Department at Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, MI. where she was a surrogate mother to many of the athletes.
Memorial donations may be made to the Aquinas College Saints Athletic Fund, Grand Rapids, MI. www.aqsaints.com/
A celebration of life will be schedule later in the year.
