James Donald Ward, age 81 went to be with his Lord on October 8th, 2016.
Beloved husband of Dolores for 60 years.
Loving father of Kathleen (Gordon), James Jr., David (Christina) and the late Stephen.
Father in law of Kathy.
Jim was very proud of his grandchildren Kimberly, Emma (Josh), Jennifer, Sam and great grand-daughter Amelia. Dear brother of Dennis (Linda) and Mike (Dalila). He was preceded in death by siblings Patrick, John and Margaret.
Jim was a proud member of UAW Local 78 and an avid Detroit sports fan. He was a compassionate advocate for helping people obtain benefits and cutting through red tape. After being diagnosed with ALS earlier this year, he supported ALS research in the hopes of helping others, especially younger patients benefit from a cure.
His passing will leave a big hole in the lives of all who loved him; he will be very much missed.
Visitation at the O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home 41555 Grand River Novi 248-348-1800 Wednesday 3-8pm with a Scripture Service at 7pm.
Instate at Holy Family Church 24505 Meadowbrook Novi Thursday 10:00am until the funeral Liturgy at 10:30am
Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery
