James Ward Hammond
September 16, 2014 age 89.
Beloved husband of Mariam for 60 years.
Loving father of Beth (Michael) Biehl and Barbara (Al) Vannini.
Dear grandfather of Rachel and Jimmy Biehl and Chris (Gabi) and Jeff Vannini.
Brother of Charles and Peter Hammond.
Mr. Hammond joined the Navy and earned his Aeronautical Engineering degree in the V-12 Program at the University of Michigan during World War II. In civilian life, he worked as a Civil Engineer at Malcomson, Fowler and Hammond and later as the Director of Architectural and Engineering Services at Wayne State University.
A memorial gathering will be held Sunday 3-6 PM at O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home, 41555 Grand River in Novi (248) 348-1800.
Memorial service will be on Monday, 1 PM at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to the "James Hammond Resident Care Activities Fund at Rose Court Fox Run" 41200 Fox Run Rd. Novi, MI 48377.
