In Loving Memory of Jakob Antonio Kolakowski (HOT ROD) November 7, 2002 – August 14, 2023. Jakob Antonio Kolakowski was born in Grand Blanc, Michigan on November 7, 2002, from the union of Thomas Antonio and Angela Lynn Kolakowski. Jakob graduated from Detroit Catholic Central in Novi, Michigan, in May 2021. He went on to pursue a degree in Electrical Engineering, one to model his father, at Eastern Michigan University, a dream that Jakob has strived for since he was a young child at the age of six. Jakob brought immense joy to the lives of his family, friends, and anyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a respectable and loving young man, with a willingness to help anyone. He simply had a heart of gold. A true enthusiast and free spirit, Jakob was passionate about working on cars. He found solace and joy in the intricate details of engines and mechanics, and his dedication to his craft was evident to all. Jakob's love for life was contagious, and he had an uncanny ability to make everyone around him smile. Jakob Antonio Kolakowski, 20, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 14, 2023, in Milford, Michigan. To cherish his memory, Jakob leaves behind his loving parents, Thomas (Alika) Kolakowski of Saint Cloud, Florida and Angela Kolakowski of West Bloomfield, Michigan. He was a caring older brother to Gage Thomas and Jack Duran Kolakowski, and his presence in their lives was a constant source of inspiration and love. He was a cherished grandson of Thomas (Maria) Kolakowski Jr., of Trenton, Michigan, and Magdalena Woodbeck, of Lapeer, Michigan, whom each held a special place in his heart. Best friend of Dre Lanni and Angelo D'Abate. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, and several friends. Family and friends will always remember Jakob for his warm heart, his infectious laughter, and his unwavering kindness. His memory will forever live on in the countless stories, shared experiences, and love he leaves behind. Friends and family may gather on Saturday, August 19, 2023, to celebrate Jakob's life. A viewing will be held from 10am until 12 noon in the gymnasium at Detroit Catholic Central High School. There will be Catholic Mass in remembrance of Jakob on campus at 12 noon. A reception will follow, where we will come together to honor his memory and share the stories that made his life so special. 1 Rest in eternal peace, our dear Jakob. Your light will shine on us forever.
