Helen Elaine O'Rourke was born in Port Huron, Michigan on May 18th,1931 and passed away July 27th, 2023 in Novi, Mi surrounded by love. Helen was a wonderful wife, mom, sister, aunt, mother-in-law, grandma, great grandma and a friend to more people then we can count - blessing everyone with her wisdom, insightfulness, energy and humor for 92 years! She held a BSN degree from Mercy College and had a wonderful nursing career while raising her family. She truly lived a life of dignity and grace and will be greatly missed. Helen was preceded in death by her husband Edward Philip O'Rourke and her grandson Ryan Michael O'Rourke. She is survived by her children Thomas (Lisa) O'Rourke, Michael (Martha) O'Rourke, Sheila (Lowell) Sprague, Dennis O'Rourke and life partner Kathy Kelly; grandchildren Tim (Marissa)O'Rourke, Kevin (Shannon)O'Rourke, Andy O'Rourke, Maggie O'Rourke, Connor Sprague, and step grandchildren Sarah (Sean) Gauvrea, Lindsey (Christopher) Crabtree, and great-grandchildren Austin and Camden O'Rourke, and Avalon Crabtree, her sister Terry (Bill) Juhl and many, many cousins, nieces and nephews. Memorial gathering of family and friends at the O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home, 41555 Grand River Avenue, Novi, 248-348-1800 on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a scripture service at 7:00 PM. Instate Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at St. James Catholic Church, 46325 W 10 Mile Road, Novi from 9:30 AM until time of funeral liturgy 10:00 AM.
