Mrs. Gulabi Shetty, age 79, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2025, in Farmington Hills, Michigan. Born on February 17, 1946, in Mangalore, Karnataka, India, Gulabi lived a full and spirited life grounded in love, perseverance, and joy.

Gulabi was known for her zest for life and her vibrant, social nature. She was joyful, tough, matter-of-fact, and vivacious—qualities that made her a source of strength and inspiration for all who knew her. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of walking, cooking, and reading, and her warmth and hospitality left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Above all, Gulabi took immense pride in her family. She cherished her late son, Pradeep Shetty, her daughters, Shalini Shetty and Shobha Kanherkar, and her sons-in-law, Hari Ganesan and Sanjeev Kanherkar. She found the greatest joy in her beloved grandchildren Prithviraj Kanherkar, Avnee Kanherkar, Ashna Ganesan, and Rohan Ganesan. Her family was her heart, and she devoted her life to nurturing them with love, guidance, and steadfast support.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Jagannath Shetty, with whom she shared many years of partnership and companionship.

A Pooja (Funeral Service) in honor of Gulabi's life will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Southern Michigan Services, 12700 Fairlane St, Livonia, MI 48150.

Please join the family for a memorial dinner to celebrate and remember Gulabi's remarkable life on Saturday, October 18, 2025, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the home of Shalini Shetty.

Gulabi will be dearly missed by her family and friends, but her memory will live on through the love, laughter, and strength she shared so freely throughout her life.
