Guido Bruni, age 82, of South Lyon, Michigan, passed away on November 19, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on October 28, 1943, in the Terrati locality in Lago, the Provence of Consenza, Italy, to the late Rosina and Luigi Bruni. Guido grew up with a strong work ethic, a deep devotion to his family, and a love for the outdoors that would accompany him throughout his life. Loyal, loving, hardworking, and caring, he was known for his generous spirit and his constant desire to help others.
Guido married the love of his life, Nicolina, with whom he shared 56 beautiful years filled with partnership, joy, and unwavering devotion. Together, they built a family that was his greatest pride. He was the cherished father of Rosita(Michael), Luigi, and Stefano, and the adoring Grandfather of Gabriela, Olivia, and Michael Dante. Guido was the loving brother of Nicola, Maria, Adelina, Guiseppina, and Francesca. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Guido is predeceased by his dear sisters, Raffaella and Ida, and by his parents Rosina and Luigi. His loved ones will forever remember him as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle whose presence brought warmth and steadiness to every moment.
Throughout his long and dedicated career, Guido worked for more than 30 years in construction as a proud member of the Laborers Union, and before coming to the United States in 1968, he worked in both Italy and France. Handy, talented, and committed, he found great joy in fixing things, tending to his gardens, and spending time outdoors. Whether he was caring for his home, helping a neighbor, or simply enjoying the fresh air, Guido approached everything he did with heart and integrity. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the work he accomplished, and the many lives he touched.
Visitation will be held at the O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home in Novi on Sunday, November 23, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with a rosary at 5:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at St. James Catholic Church in Novi on Monday, November 24, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Guido will be laid to rest during a private ceremony with his family, in the Mausoleum at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield.
