Husband to the late Ana Maria, loving father to Ana (Ashish), and grandfather of Lara and Selena.

Son of the late Cecil and Doris Beerbower and brother of Lynn(Carole) and late Lee.

Gordon Neil Beerbower was born in Detroit. Part of a large family, he loved spending time with his brothers and cousins on his grandfather's farm. He lost his father at age 13 and was brought up by his hardworking, loving schoolteacher mother. He later joined the armed forces and fought as a Marine in Vietnam. He had the opportunity to travel all over the world more than 20 countries from the Amazonian jungle in Brazil to Japan and he visited almost all states. When traveling to Mexico he fell in love with Ana Maria and they courted for years by writing letters. The funny thing though is neither spoke each others native tongue, he had a work colleague translate letters into Spanish. Once married, they went on a lot of adventures together.

Gordon was always a simple, jolly man who loved eating good food. He always saw the positive in life. A philomath, he was always curious wanting to learn about history and the world. He was a jack of all trades; journeyman at General Motors, paralegal, veteran, pilot and even delved in politics running as a Libertarian candidate for Michigan congress.

He instilled this same urge for adventure and learning to his daughter, who he always took with him to local fairs, libraries, parades, circuses and fairs.

He lived a remarkable life and now will join his loving wife, parents, brother and late family and friends in Heaven.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 1st, 2023, at the O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home, 41555 Grand River Ave, Novi, 48375 from 10:00 AM until the Funeral Service begins at 12:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial donations be made to the National Scleroderma Foundation or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
