Gloria Koceski, beloved wife of the late Leo Koceski, peacefully passed away on September 28, 2023. She was surrounded by the love of her family at the time of her passing. Gloria was a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, leaving behind a legacy of love and warmth that will be remembered forever.
Gloria is survived by her devoted sons, Kenny (Linda), Michael (Susan), and Jeffrey (Pam), as well as her adored grandchildren, Cooper and Kaitlyn. She was the cornerstone of a loving family, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Born with a zest for life, Gloria's passions were as diverse as they were inspiring. She was an avid swimmer, had a love for travel, and a talented pianist who found solace in music of all genres. Gloria's heart danced to the rhythm of life, and her love for dance was only surpassed by her affection for her late husband, Leo, with whom she shared many joyful moments on the dance floor.
Gloria was not only a lover of music but also an active member of a Tap Dance Group and a Ukelele Group, where she found camaraderie and lifelong friendships. Her hosting skills were legendary, particularly her unforgettable Kentucky Derby Parties, which were eagerly anticipated by all lucky enough to attend.
Gloria served her country as a dedicated member of the United States Army, where she proudly served as a nurse. Her commitment to caring for others extended beyond her military service, as she was known for her compassion and selflessness in her role as a nurse and caregiver to all who needed her support.
In addition to her many talents and roles, Gloria will always be remembered as an extraordinary wife, mother, and grandmother. Her unconditional love and unwavering support were gifts that she freely gave to her family and friends. She was a loyal and steadfast friend who brightened the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Visitation to honor Gloria's memory will be held on Sunday, October 1, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home located at 41555 Grand River Ave, Novi, MI. A Funeral Service will take place on Monday, October 2, 2023, at 12:00 PM at St. James Catholic Church, 46325 Ten Mile Rd, Novi, with visitation from 11:30 AM until the time of service. A luncheon will immediately follow the service, and all are welcome.
Gloria Koceski's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved her, but her spirit will forever live on in the memories of those who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be remembered as a kind and caring soul, a vibrant spirit, and a true American hero.
