Payne, Geraldine Elaine – Northville, MI. passed away peacefully after a brief illness on January 17, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Tom (2022) of 62 years. Loving and dedicated mother of Dennis (Patti Stocker) Payne, Patty (Scott) Worden, Jim (Jody) Payne and the late Thomas (2005) and John (2022). Mother-in-law of Rebecca Payne. Proud and doting grandmother of Thomas and Kathleen Worden and Madeline and Morgan Payne. Dear sister of Joan (the late Charles) Baer, Dan (Barbara) Collins, Larry (Cathleen) Collins and the late Ted (the late Barbara) Collins. Gerry was born February 27, 1937 in Detroit, Mi to the late Theodore and Bertha (DeRocher) Collins. Married in 1959, Gerry and Tom quickly started a family. With her caring, hardworking way, coupled with seemingly endless energy she enjoyed the chaos of five children and all their friends. She loved her late in life career at Our Lady of Providence working with disabled adults. Gerry was dedicated to her faith in God and served others with love and generosity. She enjoyed shopping, talking on the phone, gardening, entertaining and Sunday dinners with her family. The Payne Pool Club will be fondly remembered for its full game table, outstanding sloppy joes and welcoming hospitality. A Celebration of Life Mass will be 11am Monday, January 23, 2023 at Our Lady of Victory 132 Orchard St. Northville with visitation at 10:30 am at church. Interment Rural Hill Cemetery.
