George Edward Rakich, born on January 23, 1943, passed away on September 6, 2024, at the age of 81. An engineer by trade, George had a deep love for mathematics, music, talk radio, and radio-controlled helicopters. George never missed an opportunity to solve a calculus problem or discuss past and current events about Ford Motor Company, his primary employer during his working years.

George is survived by his daughters; Cheryl (Rob) Chanko, Heather DeSandre and Amy Rakich; and his grandchildren, Ryan & Lauren Chanko and Jack DeSandre. He also leaves behind a dear sister, Lucille (Rakich) Spinner, and niece Laura (Spinner) Dargis, along with other extended family. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Mary (Beben) Rakich and his wife of 52 years, Sharon (Lotowicz) Rakich, and his nephew, Victor Spinner.

Visitation will be held at the O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home in Novi on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, from 3-8pm with a Memorial Service on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, that begins at 11:00 a.m.
