He was the only son of predeceased Scottish parents, George and Mary Hogg, passed away June 27, 2007 at the age of 80. George grew up and lived in the Detroit area all his life. He was a graduate of Cass Technical High School, the University of Michigan College of Engineering and Wayne State University Law School where he was an adjunct professor for some 40 years. George is survived by his sisters Dorothy M. Powers and Alice L. Masson. His older sister Marguerite Sweeney passed away last year. He leaves a niece Debra Lariviere and two nephews, Robert F. Masson and Theodore Sweeney, Jr. He will be missed by Andrew Allison, Christopher and Scott Masson, Margaret and Theodore Sweeney, III. They are his great niece and nephews. He is survived by childhood and lifelong friends Patricia Wines, Ervin Vahratian, Al and Hugh MacLennon. George will also be remembered by the employees, associates and partners of Fischer, Franklin, and Ford where he practiced law for 50 years. His body has been cremated and at George's request, there will be no formal services. Contributions to a charity or church of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
